NEW TO LOHEN! Wossner Forged Pistons

Just released and now available to buy online or have fitted as part of a custom package: Wossner forged pistons.

If you are pushing the limits of the engine with higher boost or more compression then you will probably need to upgrade the pistons to forged items. These psitons are able to withstand more heat and have teflon coated skirts. They are available in standard bore (77mm) dimension and .5mm oversize (77.5mm). The kit comes complete with oil and seal rings, fixed pins and is a direct replacement for the standard items. Please see our website for further details here.

Priced at £499 inc.vat for a set. Available for the MINI One, Cooper & Cooper S.

Are you introducing new rods? Or are the standard items up to the task? What sort of boost pressure would warrant changing the pistons?

The standard rods are good for serious power, just change your rod bolts, head bolts and head gasket.

ARP for the hardware and Cometic for the head gasket!

The Wossner Pistons from lohen are very good , but no need in changing them unless you run mega boost, maybe a twincharge system or a very small S/C Pulley

Pistons are very good idea for more than 19-22 P.S.I of boost, but no matter what piston you have nothing is going to put up with loads of pinging (detonation)

Why don't you give it a REST for CHRIST SAKE . Your 2 pennies worth ran out long ago.

Hey steady,

Ive not had a go at anyone on this thread, I agree with Lohen totally about the pistons and they look very good

If i was to have a dig i would go to the correct thread!

Just Answering to a question asked wether our Rods need replacing!!

Im not sure if you Know, but a connecting rod is different to a Piston

Also i was helping rather than having a go

If this has got on your goat then i will delete my post, sorry for helping

Don't delete the post. You have answered my question.

I was wondering if it is worth someone with mild mods (230bhp) changing to uprated pistons?

Would the pistons change the CR?

Geez, living up to your screename perhaps?!

In all seriousness, Ricky is only trying to help. He has a load of FIRSTHAND experience about tuning the MINI and is not a keyboard jock. He has spent alot of his own money doing things that most only dream about. Both him and I have done the whole hog on the supercharged engine and are now moving onto ridiculous power domains where upgrading the rods is a serious consideration.

He is right about the standard rods, but being a scintered design, I would change them out if you are going to run 25psi+ I've gone with custom Crower rods, but that's because I don't want anything to let go at 8,500rpm+ when running stupid power

Cheers,

Henry

Hi,
It is probably not worth you changing to forged pistons at the moment, due to the cost involved and all that you dont really have a demend for them. The compression ratio remains the same as they are a direct replacemnt for the stock items.
