Lohen LCS1 upgrade

Hi, I been thinking of getting the Lohen Stage one installed on my 2005 MCS, any of you guys got this fitted and if so are you happy with the results ?

Also as a side note, what kind of increase did it have on your insurance premium ?

Thanks

Think I'd wait until LOHEN find out what went wrong or save the Pennies and go JCW

Was going to go with the LOHEN kit but will definitely going JCW now, thats not to say it couldn't happen to the JCW kit but still never heard of a JCW conversion going wrong. I hope LOHEN find out what happened soon as it won't do future sales of their tuning kits much good.

Even though Lohen do a very good job with their work, they could never beat A JCW warranty. (unless someone can put me right on that). But... then again I am considering getting there upper and lower OMP (I think) strut Braces.

What Lohen need to do is set up a warranty, like JCW. were if anything goes wrong you are fully covered. They'd be rollin in gold then. aii (or do they do this already?)

Its funny warranty with JCW has been brought up. I had to have my centre JCW pipe and silencer replaced under warranty as the baffles failed inside it. I took it to my local dealer (Williams Bolton) and when they found out the JCW kit was fitted by JCG in West Sussex they REFUSED to carry out any warranty work on my vehicle as JCG are apparently not a BMW franchised dealership.

So I then took it to Bowker Preston and they sorted under warranty So just a word of warning you can still run into problems as I did with stupid dealerships

Considering Lohen are sorting the problem out dont know what your issue is. Add a proper CAI and theres will be faster than a JCW anyway

You pays your money and takes your choice, I don't think BMW and JCG charge their customers 3k plus fitting for a laugh. Having looked at aftermarket kits for the S which consist of a few bolt on bits and pieces and look at the JCW kit you see where your money is going ie thorough engineering, new head, supercharger, injectors etc. You may get the same bang for buck (literally) by sticking a CAI, pulley, remap or whatever but the engine is basically the same. Don't care what anyone says, that the engine can take it etc, why didn't BMW make the S 210bhp in the first place?. The only way to achieve that sort of power output and maintain long term reliability, it's only 1600cc afterall is with stronger internals and thorough R & D which I'am sure BMW have done with JCW kit. I think what happened to Alex's S is a classic example.

I was the first person to have the Lohen stage 1 kit installed and I've never had a problem with it and thats including 3 track days.

I'd imagine all tuning companies have had something go wrong with their conversions including JCW. The only difference is your guaranteed a free fix with JCW, whilst you might not be with other companies, hence the big price for the JCW kit. But in this case Lohen have said they'd sort it, so whats the problem.

Most of this thread should be put onto another post in faults and fixes!

This thread is unfair to Lohen because some are talking about an old thread in another area or mini2!

I only started the thread to get a general opinion on the LCS1 package, It has been pointed out several times in this thread that Lohen agreed to fix the issue in the other thread. I am only really after a general opinion of the performance increase and of course reliability of the kit which i think is a fair thing to ask!

I am still very tempted by the Lohen kit

Never had any problem with anything done by any of the aftermarket tuners i have used, Lohen and GTT included. I have however had to replace my JCW center section exhaust as my baffles have gone too. Also my conversion wasnt fitted properly by the dealer in the first place - vacuum line not attached. BMW said nowt wrong, JCW sorted it when i had the 210 upgrade. Nothings 100%. Good luck with whatever you choose. Whichever it will be the slippery slope!
