| MINI2 Newbie | The time has come to put a performance exhaust onto my mini i have had the car but 3 days and it has not been fully run in yet (still managed to do 450 miles in 3 days )i have decided to do some research into an exhaust system. From where i stand i am looking at either a borla systed or a milltek (for a mini one) i was just wanting to know what these are like from people who own them I have a mate who has put a k&n typhoon onto his mini and it sounds bloody awesome and he only has the induction kit on it I want mine to sound similar just in my experience an exhaust drowns that sound out which leads me back to the point Which one is the best exhaust to get if i still want to hear the induction kit and also give a nice tuned sound? id rather have quiet and tuned than loud and chavvy Cheers for any help Ollie |

Offline | I recently added the K&N 57i kit, bluefin, and Milltek cat back exhaust to the other halfs Cooper. First I fitted the induction kit, which made a great noise when you boot it, but isn't at all intrusive you you drive normally. Can't say I noticed any change in performance, but it makes you smile. Then I chipped the cooper using Bluefin, and that made a relatively big difference. Pulling away is where I noticed the biggest change. Then a week or two later the Milltek. It looks the muts, and when you boot it now, the noise comes from the induction kit and through and out the back. I have driven along side the car whilst the missus boots it past me, and it sounds gorgeous. And get to 4000 RPM and it takes off now. So in summar: Induction kit = cool noise. Bluefin = low down smooth power delivery. Milltek = Great sound and extra power at the top end. Oh and I added the magnecor leads and Denso Iridium plugs. Milltek on its own, dunno I'm afriad, but for £80 more you could get the induction kit as well, and is easy to fit yourself. For a one you can get Blufin that will add a whole heap more HP to the mix though. Hope that helps. |
