K&N Cone Filter

Having fitted a K&N filter to our 2003 Mini Cooper and been generally impressed with the performance of it, I am now having to remove it as the car is due to go into the local dealer to have some warranty items sorted out and they can get a bit touchy with some modifications.

I have noticed though that the new filter has caused an amount of the soundproofing material to burn away on the underside of the bonnet, and I was wondering if any other members had also experienced this having fitted a replacement filter.

Any thoughts appreciated.
