It just offers more options and saves the customer money if nothing can be gained from re-mapping. Some vehicles do require re-mapping (in particular retarding the ignition ) and in these cases are always re-mapped. The prices on the site include the remap, so in reality many people pay less!
BTW Yours was re-mapped

TBH - I think that is a very professional approach - looking at each car and customising the level on tune on a case by case basis. As has been stated - is mass production - the cars are built to tolerances - so some may tally up better than others - one that are on the extremities of the tolerances may need help to perform optimally

Cool

Thanks for the response Roland. One of the great things about GTT is that, as a customer, you can seek advice/engage in debate/ask stupid questions/whatever on an open forum knowing that the supplier is open enough to respond in a refeshingly honest and straightforward manner. One of the reasons I selected GTT for my conversion.

Back to topic - My car was remapped and as such is 'optimised' for the mods it has and the state of its o.o.t.b. tune. Is it broke? No! Then I don't need to get if fixed.

And thanks Ricky for pointing out that my motor needs special help to perform! Makes it sound like some kind of educationally subnormal basket case

Cheers

S

Late to the party...

Like NickG, I'm also without a remap. I've done maybe 10k with the car (I think I went to Blandford 9-12 months ago) and no issues. I seem slightly low on oil so I may top it up, or see how much BMW want to do a filter change.

The car at 220 brake has been just fantastic. I've never done a track day, but I've... pushed things "a bit" in Norway and Germany. Consistently great.

I guess I also need to think about a new belt for somethingorother, I'm sure Roland mentioned some basic maintenance that naturally was right over my head...
