Offline | K&N 57i induction kit info? Hi, Ive decided to get the K&N 57i induction kit for my mini ONE. My main reasons for choosing this one is that it is cheap and seems easy to install it yourself. I was wondering how people are finding this kit? Also I just found they do the Typhoon version for mini which is slightly above my price range so i was wondering if it is worth the extra money and is it as easy to install as the 57i? Any reviews on these systems by people who have them would be much appreciated ![]() Thanks, Crammy |

Offline | I have a K&N 57i induction kit on my Cooper and love it. No hp gains but a great throaty noise. And it wasn't tough to install. I admit I had a friend help since I'm not a mechanic but I think I could do it myself if I needed to. I did also looked at the Typhoon but decided the benefits weren't enough to justify the extra cost. But I could be wrong about that ![]() Global Moderator ![]() |

Offline | Cool thanks, i was just looking at the Typhoon one and they do look a lot better but as you said im not sure the extra cost justifies just looking better. Anyone know about the performance/sound of the Typhoon ? Also will both these kits fit a 2006 mini ONE because on the website it says 2000-2004 but im not sure if the websites just from 2004? |

Offline | Another thumbs up for the 57i kit here. It was the first mod I completed on the girlfriends Cooper, and the sound alone kept making me press the load pedal over and over again. Then get yourself a Milltek exhaust and have the sound all the way from front to back, and then get the ECU chipped... Install wise, very easy. Even I could do it ![]() PS, that was on a 2001, not sure what years they will fit, but the K&N website might have more info/ |
