Thumbs up Newbie question

Hi Guys

This is my first post on this forum

Im due to take delivery of my MCS in a few weeks and im keen to have a bit of a fettle. Im coming from a lotus elise so im intending on abit of ecu work to increase the std BHP of 170. Which ECU 'kit' is recommended, i see there are a few GTT, chiptuning, bluefin etc

Any help much appreciated

Mark

Smile Welcome to MINI2 ...

Not much horsepower to be gained from just an ECU remap.

Fitting a reduction pulley on the supercharger offers the "biggest bang for the buck"

Hi And welcome!

There's quite a few different kits and methods available to tune up the MCS's, all depends how much BHP your looking for and what money to spend.

The sponsors are always a good place to look

Im after a few 'discreet' mods as the car will is a lease car. I know pwer increases arent great with ecu only but these companies are claiming 190 - 195 bhp?

Superchips Bluefin claims only +8 bhp ... higher claims are questionable.

GT 190, chip tuning claim 190 - 195? Anyone tried these companies and been satisfied with dyno results?

It would be better to do the pulley etc before you go down the ecu route.

What? Just replace the pulley itself? The GT Tuning pulley is 59 GBP. Would this in combo with their gt190 kit: ecu remap + optimised bypass valve + iridium sparkplugs
give a good result??
