What do you call this?

If I were to go to a auto store and ask for the part pictured below, what would you call it?

Also, is it generally avaliable in store? Which stores might I find it at?

Looks like some weatherstriping to me -- you might try a auto paint & body specialty shop or a auto supply house. Here in Arizona a place called "Space Age Paint" carries that sort of stuff.

Ha, I know, I'm going to have to either print the picture, or bring the auto store guy out to my car and point it out to him. I even tried to look it up in MINI parts diagram.

I just didn't want to drive all around, I wanted to call the stores first. Oh well.

Personally over here I find the best place to find that stuff (I'd call it rubber strip), is at a rubber shop.

Hmmm, I don't think we have rubber shops around here. At least not open to the public. Luckily I found what I needed (though highly overpriced) at an auto store.

My homemade cold air intake is almost complete!

its a weatherstrip or sealing rubber. Automotive trim suppliers or coach builders would have them or know of stockists. Try also extruded products or plastic or rubber profiles in yellow pages or the web.
