Can this DIY exhaust mod be done to the MCS?

I have a friend who used to own a USDM VW R32. The exhaust on this vehicle had a valve of some sort near the muffler that would open up at higher RPM's, and produced a beautiful sound. Apparently this system is very similar to the one found on the M3, Fairlady Z (350Z), and Skyline GT350 (Inifiniti G35C), and he was able to force the valve open at all times using a ziptie. I am curious if anyone knows whether the MCS stock exhaust can have a similar mod performed.

There is no valve on the MCS currently, it's just a standard exhaust system.

It was acceptable in the 80's

The valve on the R32 doesn't actually eliminate the muffler to the best of my knowledge, and I don't want to void warranty by cutting my pipes.

Look up the "One-ball" mod, and do that - remember you'd only void the warranty on the exhaust, and lets face it what can happen to that!!

Webb doesn't answer emails and has dropped off the face of the earth though, and thats a lot of money for an exhaust.

He doesn't want that, read the thread properly

Hes talking about the stock system on a Golf, and the simple mod you can do to make it louder (just like the JCW airbox screw mod), and asking if the Minis exhaust has a similar thing you can do to make it louder

yeh i know, but I just pointed him in that direction in case he really wanted something that does it. Someone already told him that there isn't such a system on the MCS

I appreciate the help mates.

I've not even completed the break-in period yet so a cat-back is definitely out for now, plus I am doing my best to resist performing any mods other than DIY or cosmetic improvements.

I did some research on the screw mod, but never determined if it could be performed on the stock instake, and also never determined if it did indeed allow unfiltred air into the engine. So... I think I will just stick with stock for right. This little bugger is mighty quick compared to my Subaru RS I traded for it, so I have no complaints on the power, just like to have a little more noise.
