Anyone use Carsoft?

Hi Folks

Anyone used Carsoft on thier Mini?

Did it allow coding and customisation of any of the comfort settings?

Hi

Yes..not cheap to buy... although you could "shop around"....

It does everything you could ask for with BMW kit... you can diagnose and control most things from a PC to test.

It lets you do coding of control units too...

Just not seen any references to using it with MINI....

Either everyone is keeping Carsoft a big secret or there's not many people prepared to plug a laptop into the car.

Well, I have the dreaded airbag light disease, caused after I took the seat out to replace the sat-nav unit. The dealer wanted £80 to diagnose and reset the light, but for half that price, I've just bought some software and a lead+interface.

My theory is try it out, see if it works. If it doesn't, buy one of the B200 tools and reset it that way, still spending around £80 in total, but none of my money has gone to a greedy main dealer.

Just waiting for the Hong Kong delivery service now, so watch this space.

Let us know how you get on! The Carsoft website is awful and lacks the information I would like. Sounded like it supports the MINI... just about but not to the levels of other BMWs.

Unhappy

Well, I've now tried using the carsoft program on an old Windows 98 laptop, an XP laptop, used the normal BMW interface and tried using the proper carsoft leads.

Not a single success.

I'm afraid to say that the Carsoft 6.5 program just will not work with a Mini

If anyone has a copy of a later version I can try, I'm willing to test it out.

I know the latest version and service pack defiantly supports the MINI now. Anyone got it?

How is the software defiant in its support for the Mini?

I'm definitely interested in this piece of software. Sounds like fun
