Offline | Exhaust Questions Hey, everyone! I have a 2006 MINI Cooper S that I just recently got last Christmas. It only has about 5,000 miles on it, and i want to add an exhaust kit to it. I am particularly looking for noise. I am stuck between the Magnaflow Exhaust Kit, and the Borla Sport (aka "Agressive") Exhaust Kit. From what I have read on the forums, the Magnaflow seems to be the loudest out of these two. But is it really? Which sounds better, and is there a louder or better sounding exhaust kit out there other than these two? All post replys would be very helpful, as I am looking to buy this exhaust kit for my car VERY soon (by Aug 28th). Thanx!~MCSman MCSMan |

Offline | you can find sound files of many of the kits out there (sorry you'll have to google/search the links yourself, but I've found them easily enough while considering the same upgrade). Haven't got to that point yet, my baby's still new so I'm not modding yet. Good luck with yours. I think those sound files were linked off of this site, but with the new forum organization of late I'm not sure where they were anymore. |

Offline | IMO, the Magnaflow sounds way better than the Borla. The Magnaflow has a great rumble, gurgle, and pop with "big lungs". To me, the Borla sounds more ricey, like it's trying too hard. Magnaflow also has a lifetime warranty, and significantly less parts to put together. |

Offline | I’ve got very similar requirements for my new exhaust – I want noise as the main thing but don’t want anything that sounds crap. I’ve read round old posts on the forum (I’ve even read back a few years! )…anyway – I discovered the Borla and the Larini were the loudest really.I’ve heard sounds clips and really fancy a Larini now, there is a group buy being looked at at the moment – check out the group buy section of the forum. They sound sweet – try youtube.com for some sound clips, I searched for larini mini. |

| MINI2 Senior | another muffler choice You may want to check out the Supersprint exhaust. We have several sound levels to choose from. We offer the Supersprint T.U.V. approved system, that is what is sold in Europe, and in the U.S. as a quiet system, Then we offer a "Sport" system that is quite a bit louder. In Europe they call it the "Export System" Then we also offer a resonator in place of the center pipe, if some one want it even quieter yet. This resonator is very popular for those who have purchases the "Other brand of mufflers and find them too noisy". We use these resonators sometimes when a client opts for the high flow metallic race cats. (since they increase sound just slightly) If you go to this link on our site there is a video/audio of Blue Thunder MINI Cooper Performance by PROMINI: Project Cars in Action |
