England Indution Questions

Hi I have a mini one with a viper indution kit on it but was wondering if there is a better place to maybe run a cold air feed pipe and if it is possible to take the standard one off. I dont want to cut any holes in my grill top or bottom. Someone please help me.

Dan

For the Viper to work at its best you need to use a ram-air system, which is pretty much what the car has as standard. You should have got a flyer with your Viper showing a track car that had a Viper fitted: That car had a hole cut in the front bumper with the intake facing forward. This would provide you with the best performance, but you have two problems here; firstly you don't want to cut your grills or bodywork and secondly if you hit a large amount of water in the road, it will get sucked into the engine, resulting in BANG!

At the moment I've got mine connected onto the MINI's cold air feed resonator box - allows for any water to drain-out. I suppose for max performance, you could bypass the resonator box and just take air from the forward first section of the MINI air intake pipe.

See my gallery for photo's on how I've got mine fitted.
