Offline | bhp upgrade Hi I know there are lots of threads relating to this subject which I have read with great interest and at one point was booked in for the jcw 225 upgrade but could not get it done at that time so now I'm on the trail again with more knowlage but still confused ie jcw use modified s/c as opposed to smaller pulley milltek exhaust would seem to be the best GTT intercooler and cold air ram is always up there m7 throttle body bluefin and so on and on and on. Has anyone got the answer to the best way to go? Thanks Dave |

Offline | My opinion All the bhp kits out there follow the same sort of idea just depends how much bhp the kit wants to achieve. so all you need to do is buy the items that are in the kits and over time you'l have you own performance kit: Smaller pulley (15%, 17%) - would go with GTT or Alta A CAI - iv got the Alta which is very good but the GTT one is excellent too! A Manifold/Header - GTT all the way! Intercooler - GTT, GRS or the new M7 one! Exhaust - Milltek Spark Plugs - anyone, does'nt matter so much Injectors - JCW Thats the sort of mods for the lower 200bhp mark, you can add other more serious stuff to get more bhp: Cylinder head - GTT stage 1-3 Modified S/C - M7 Cams GTT - lohen will supply good ones. TB - GTT or lohen etc etc All you need to decide is what products your happy to put on your car with confidence! Iv got a few GTT items and they are excellent, iv also got Alta Tuning items and they are also of a high quality. Offline | Hi guys,JCW use smaller SC pulley same as everybody else. Are they saying they dont or is ' a modified SC' just a more impressive way of saying 'its a stock SC with a smaller pulley? Are they doing something else aswell as the smaller pulley on the 225 kit? For example blanking off the small triangular outlet ports, or CNC milling out the inlet or outlet ports? Ask for a detailed explanation of 'in what way ,and to what extent ' is it modified. Best Regards Roland GTT ![]() |
