| MINI2 Senior | Re: Ok I will plead dumb The 2 front shock towers are the fastening points for the front struts. This area basically holds up the front of the car. Any beating that the car takes (Pot holes, severe bumps, or just the general transfer of road impact to the chassis, is transfered to the uni-body at these 2 points. Installing stiffer springs with heavier shocks, transfers more of this stress to the body, rather than absorbing it via the softer springs & shocks. This bar, braces the 2 towers against each other to avoid them flexing in toward the center of the car. But more important, they just Look Cool!!!! ![]() |

Offline | Only for the "S"? Is there a model planned for the Mini Cooper as well or only for the "S" model? Cheers! | MINI2 Senior | Re: Only for the "S"? We will offer the same piece for the Cooper also, At this time getting a Cooper for us is a little difficult. We are located in the state of Texas. And for various reasons Texas was the only state in the U.S. that did not have a Dealer network set up in time for the Mini introduction. So at this time all Minis in Texas are imported from another state. And natually since there are no dealers to service them, few people are buying them. But dealers are now being built, and before long we will see them blasting around the state. We purchased one of the first "S" from a dealer Chicago Illinois. |

Offline | Nice looking, Blue Thunder! Any difficulty getting to the jump-start terminal?, or any chance of a short-circuit when it's in use? Also - do you have to replace the shock-tower screws with longer ones, to accomodate it's thickness? So far as color, I'd like powder-coated black. I'm not one of these "clean engine compartment" people, so that'd hide some of the dirt (maybe). Chip H. ex-MINI Cooper S owner and all around good-guy |

| MINI2 Senior | The studs are plenty long, for mounting. The jump start lug is well out of the way and has a cover. To jump the car I would recommend removing the drivers side through bolt on the stress bar, and it will lift out of the way, for safe access. That was a good thought, you would need to keep a wrench for that purpose in you tool kit. Do people do tool kits any more, or is it called a cell phone now days!! ![]() |

You'll let us know when you get pricing set? > Do people do tool kits any more, or is it called a cell phone now days!! < A friend's emergency kit contains a cellphone, 2 one-hundred dollar bills, and a pistol.
