My little trip to Blanford! - GT Tuning

Well had the day off on Friday - was originally planing to go down to West Tuning to see the guys there but Ray was off - so had a day to do nothing.
I had called GTT earlier in the week and said that I might be paying a visit and wanted to know if Roland and the demo car would be around. The answer was yes.

Took a nice drive down to Blanford and pulled into Industrial estate from which GTT operate. The Blue Beast was outside looking very mean -awesome in the metal.

Went in and met Roland - nice guy - knowledgable and open to questions.
We had a brief chat about what I wanted done.

GTT (NGK) Iridium Spark Plugs - for better running
GTT Intercooler Snoot Boots - to eliminate leaks that all stock MSC's have
GTT optimisation of By-Pass Valve - optimise the throttle response, vacum & boost.

Roland then dropped me down into Blanford Forum in the blue beasty. - All I can say about that car is WOW. I think the stopping power almost impressed me more than how it goes. Thought my internals might leak out through my nose!. - ok - a bit extreme - but seriously -that car with its combo of sticky rubber and sledghammer stoppers - awesome.

Anyway after about 90minutes I call Roland and he says he's on his way down to collect me. He came down in my car - I get in and we head back to the shop. It is my first time ever the in passenger seat of my Mini so is an interesting experience in itself!. Roland knows these cars and was giving it a road test. - Immediatetly the car feels more urgent and quicker to boost - more eager throttle response. Roland comments that my car drives very well - I ask him if the bypass valve was ok - and he said this it was quite far out. He had replaced the snoot boots with GTT items and had given the IC a quick clean out. He states that fettling I have had done was more effective on my car than a remap would have been - I'm chuffed.
we get back to the shop - i settle up - we talk about the next steps and I head off.

The car now feels like it should - when left the factory. All 170 horses correct and present and some more have joined in too! The car is just eager to go and pulls cleanly all the way to the rev limiter now - 6th is more urgent still. With 3rd being borderline silly. tbh I'm a little worried about getting more power.

all in all very happy - seemingly instant results.

MY05 MINI COOPER S - DS/B - GTT OPTIMISED- THANKS FOR THE RIDE - ENTER THE R56 JCW

I felt the same when Roland took me out in mine after the conversion, but as
others have said you'll soon want more power

Yes the bypass mod is a win all round situation. AFAIK we're still the only tuner over here to do it,and include in all GTT Conversions.
Best Regards Roland GT Braking.....

Have to say - I beleive that this mod is vastly underrated, and may not receive enough exposure. - a must do on all cars

It was the first thing a BMW mechanic friend of mine checked on my conversion
to see what Roland had done

He was very impressed
