Yellow Cooper Engine Delay

When I reverse fast then put into first gear there is a delay in power. almost stalls sometimes.

Is this a common problem. can it be fixed.

I thought maybe its something to do with the spark plugs. maybe upgrade the power.

it's more than likely your traction control. try it with traction control off.

Some interesting ideas so far.

Won't be a traction control thing as dont have it on my mini.

will need to investigate more.

Spark plugs don't 'know' if you're going backwards or forwards so it won't be them! It'll be engine compression I imagine......

oh! wait! it's the fuel sloshing in the tank!!! sometimes when i take a hard right (sometimes) i'll get as you say a delay like feeling ;it's as if someone pulled the plug but then all is well. i think it's the switch in the tank (for roll overs) maybe.???

I notice a delay in power sometimes when I set off / pull away. Read on here that this is likely to happen when it's cold. Had been in the car for a good 10mins last night, travelled down a hill towards a roundabout, slowed down, back on the accelarator and nothing for a split second. Very odd...or could be my driving!

More likely the notorious Mini 'flat spot'. A chip or ECU remap usually minimises or eliminates this! Good excuse for some extra BHP!
