Offline | Bluefin Vs MTH for Cooper S Hi all, Quite keen to improve the performance of my MCS. Looking at the charts (on lohen's), a bluefin seems to increase output by 8bhp, compared to 20bhp for the MTH remap...yet are comparable in price (ish) I quite like the thought of plug and play and the reversibility for servicing however. I know people have been singing MTH's praises on the MCS, but can anyone tell me about the performance increase with a Bluefin on a cooper s? Cheers gals n guys hope u all having a top sat afternoon Aslan nb. just bought the number plate A5LN U....so if u see me around, giz us a wave ![]() |

Offline | I ran MTH Tuner file on my MCS for about 3 weeks before fitting my pulley. IMO MTH is great, really improves the driveability of the car, but if you go in expecting every single one of those "20hp" you will be disappointed. ![]() |

Offline | tbh - bhp is really just an indicator when it comes to tuning or increasing/imporving the performance of your car. More important is how the file allows your car to deliver the power - is it compatible to your driving style - what do the curves look like? - for most people a map that delivers a huge bhp but is peaky and only delivers that power @ 7Krpm is pretty much useless - in comparison to a map that has less peak hp but has a flatter torque delivery and more useable power throughout the middle of the rev range - we're especially in the UK - we spend most of our time. Offline | Hey I ran the bluefin on my cooper s and then changed to the MTH Tuner file and i can honestly say that there is no comparison, power, smoothness and torque are much better with the MTH! plus you get the upgrades for a year and its £50 less... Jonny ![]() |

Offline | jonnyc ok cheers mate that answers the question clearly ![]() sken for mth u need a laptop/cable to get ur ecu settings first. u can then send the file to an official mth dealer who can tweak it n send u a copy back...which u then upload back to ur car. alternatively some guys (essentialmini.co.uk) do it all for you ![]() |
