If you want subtle and not too big nor too loud how's about a normal one? You could always just get it a a set of tips which is about the only thing you will ever see of it.....

Cheers for the help. i spoke to R-TEC and they can custom build an exhaust for £330 inc VAT and fitting. you can select how loud you want it and the tip you want. they offer a million mile warranty but still a bit unsure, i'd prefer a good brand name. any of you's got a custom built exhuast?

i know loads of cars not minis with them a depending on the garages rep, you get some awesome bits of kit. at the end of the day if you dont like it, dont pay and have them remove until right etc.... its only a bolt on back box, i doubt itll cause you any trouble

i spoke to a mate who's a mechanic and he reckons that the prob with these custom built exhausts is that they aint really made for your car and that in some cases you could actually lose performance.

Im feeling a play mini slash cut sys but in all honesty and no offence but from the pics i've seen they look too big for the mini cooper maybe in the flesh they look better. in an ideal world you could see real examples instead of pics before you buy.

I am gettin a new exhaust kit for my 2006 MCS this week or next week, and after much research, I've decided that I am going to purchase the Magnaflow Exhaust (b/c it is the loudest & best sounding; on a MINI at least) good luck!

I would say a Miltek is probably your best bet and seems to suit the MINI well. Not sure what the cheaper exhausts are like but then again don't kid yourself that spending alot will get better results. I was bitterly dissapointed with my Eisenmann cat back on my S which cost a fortune and was nothing but trouble, ie knocking, blowing and melting the rear bumper trim. I had a new standard system fitted as I got fed up with the problems, worst was the general knocking and thudding. Would advise you check with your insurers also before going ahead, as mine wanted an extra £300 on my premium thats not a typo error.

Cheers

ive been looking into this for my cooper for a while and ive settled on a milteck or a janspeed system, becasue - both have been developed just for the mini both are from well estalished makers the miletck is also made of 304 grade stainless steel the same used on planes and comes with a lif warranty

I thought about going custom too but worried about a possible loss in power.... all that said I would proabably go for a Milteck now since I know tons of people that have had them and all say they are great! They don't seem too boy-racer either and the TT style end pipe looks cool without going OTT.

Time is money when your selling clocks!

yea i quite like the sound of the milltek aswell, but has any1 got any pics of the TT on a cooper. if i wasn't put off by the 3'' tip i'd definately bought it by now, in my opinion something just a bit smaller would look best.

but i've been lookin non stop for something just a bit smaller and i cant find it.... i really dont wana resort to custom built cause its true they aint speacially developed for our cars and a loss of power would be a disaster. even though the gain of a milltek or any other brands would be minimal it seems silly to spend all that cash and lose power. any other thoughts on custom built?
