Hi guys,

was doing some general maintance on my MCS, i found my the top of my Alta intecooler air diverter is beening rusted away.

I took off the rubber seals that sit on top of the diverter, and found the silver paint have been stripped away and the metal parts are exposed and is extremely rusted.

i had the diverter for around 2 yrs now.

I have emailed Alta for answers, but anyone had similar experienced b4?

alta stuff rusts!!!!!! our firnd has the alta diveter and cooler and it rusted (as weel as the ata spotlights, the bracket to taht powder coated black has rusted too), had it resprayed. my alta cai started to rust on the bottom so had it sprayed, i think they powder coat the metal components and in places it craks or gets chipped off and leaves the metal exposed.....

i reccomend taking off all of you alta bits and any fuse box covers etc and having them colour coded, cheap enough if you shop around and looks smart. regular paint seems to last longer for somereason. (and no you dont need special paint it dosnt get that hot!)

they got back to me..... but they said they will recoat the diverter with paint......

i am actually now thinking of just doing it myself (it would be cheaper), since i don't think they will replace it with a brand new unit and i still need to mail it to the US......

i don't think i will go for their product ever again.

it all works fine bar the rust.....fine once painted propely. but still a concern
