Offline | Can someone shed some light on this one though? The emissions light came on a few weeks ago and then went out on its own after about a weeks worth of driving, then last week the light has come back on again, whats going on? |

| dyno-mite, might not.... | my light came on yesterday, mcs gtt220+ from last summer, let a guy drive it who had a TVR and now the fast 200bhp Astra, i guess its just not used to going past 5k that often, i have decided to leave well alone and will post again if/when it goes out, i am assuming/hoping that some unburnt fuel has set it off [ and if your thinking of buying one? ... he said the mini felt more solid and gave more feedback to the driver, compared to the latest astra and that the TVR was a pain as it tramlined everywhere with big rubber on] ![]() carefree |

| The Power Cube | Yes, this is normal. ...but the Engine Management Light is not the same as the Emissions light - you are mixing up your references. There is an "EML" light and i guess this stands for "Engine Management Light" but not sure why it would need the "L" for "Light". With this continually lit you are being told that there is a fault with the engines electronics - could be anything. There is another light above the "EML" light. This second light looks like a small engine and is the "Emissions" light. This remains lit if there is a fault with your vehicles emissions. It is also lit on modified cars due to high pressures and out-of-the ordinary readings being sent to the ECU. It is also common for the O2 sensors to be faulty. So, two lights - one called EML, the other called Emissions. This is all explained in your users handbook I drive my car up to 7,200 rpm regularly with pressures exceeding 18psi so my "Emissions" light is lit, but that is perfectly normal for my car. There are several threads covering this topic, so a quick search would have been usefull.... Cheers, K. ![]() Too many mods to list, PM me if the cat needs killing... |
