Offline | More exhaust noise wanted... I love the sound of my Works, but wouldn't mind the exhaust a bit throatier and deeper...it's also fairly quiet. I also wouldn't mind more frequent and louder pops/bangs, a louder/deeper note on idle, and while accelerating, but no louder while at cruising speeds on the motorway etc. I don't want any droning or anything - am I asking for the impossible? I want to keep the JCW catback, so I guess I'm looking at some sort of manifold? Any help would be appreciated...I don't want it too loud and not boy racerish, but just a bit louder/more impressive/throatier/bassy rumble And no droning while cruising.Thanks. ![]() |

Offline | I'm sure roland will correct me if i'm wrong. It removes one of the silencers and alot of the bendy pipes with a nice straight pipe, saves weight and flow. Lifted from the site: This is included in GTT240 conversions and above. This product effectively gives you aftermarket system benefits at a fraction of the price, whilst maintaining the stock tailpipe appearance. The OE system is a mind boggling maze of tight bends with two silencers. The GTT Re-Route pipe deletes many of these bends and one of the silencers, reducing restrictions and giving a better exhaust note in the process (not to loud). As an added bonus it also removes nearly 20lb in weight! It is manufactured from S304 stainless steel, TIG welded throughout & mirror polished. Comes complete with new clamps (ps mod's sorry if this is wrong )Checkmate mad owner |

Offline | R1: I actually bought that part, but as my JCW is factory-fitted, the exhaust is moulded. So to fit that bit, would have meant cutting/re-welding the exhaust , which I didn't want to do! ![]() |

| only the brave! | yeah the gtt re-route pipe is for std MCS exhaust's, it wouldnt be really worth the hassle doing it to a JCW cat back!! As your JCW is factory fitted your limited to one thing, the GTT manifold, i had one on mine before i got the JCW motorsport manfold and centre pipe, and to be honest the GTT is as good as they come, the sound produced is amazing!! I have some vid clips of; JCW cat back with GTT manfold and Cat JCW cat back with GTT manifold and De-cat pipe JCW cat back with JCW Motorsport manifold with Motorsport centre pipe, will try and get em uploaded a decent site??? any better than youtube for this sort of thing?? |

| Amiga 500 to PS3 20 Years | Trouble is the resonator is designed to stop any booming and droning noise from the exhaust. That is one thing Mark lists as not wanting to do. Keep the resonator and get a manifold. Increased noise without boominess. ![]() It was acceptable in the 80's |

Offline | GTT manifold is your only option Mark. - I've been out im Roland's demo car a few weeks ago - it only has the main cat - the rest is straight through with his manifoldm -was awesome - was a bit too loud for me - but that because he had no resonator in place - with one it would have been perfect. The manifold will also release a few horses - maybe looking at upto around 7bhp - so you'll be in GP land interms of power too!. Offline | For race and track days I run PKT RKT with a straight pipe right after the cat. Simple and cheap. I remove the complete street set up, including the front mounting plate, and bolt the straight pipe right to the flange. I use some mounting straps and bolt them to the front plate mounting bolt holts. |

Offline | Ray? - you mean Roland. - But yep - you will be happy with the manifold. - Its a good buy. The manifold will bolt on before your cat - where there is a flange - universal fitting MY05 MINI COOPER S - DS/B - GTT OPTIMISED- THANKS FOR THE RIDE - ENTER THE R56 JCW |
