Offline | Quick bit of help needed - Is this a Borla? Hi, I've been offered a Borla exhaust for my Cooper S for a reasonable price but when I check out the websites they don’t look like this one. The ones on all the websites have two cans but this just has one with a twin exit pipe – I’ve not seen a Borla like this before. Apparently it’s road legal etc but as I’ve not seen one before I didn’t want to commit to buying it from the guy until I’d checked on here. I’ve attached a pic so you can see what I’m on about. Has anyone seen one like this before? And most importantly do you know if they’re road legal etc? Apparently to fit you cut the original rear box off and the new exhaust just fits over the top and you can clamp it on, apparently it’s ‘a back box to be used on the road and also a link pipe to remove the other box’. Was fitted on an 05 Cooper S but how hard would it be to fit it to my 03 Cooper S – I know the hangers are slightly different? Now, I’m after something loud and am guessing this could be what I’m after (Borla are notoriously loud I believe and single can should be good too?), but also want something that’s legal and will pass MOT for noise and emissions etc. Thanks as always, much appreciated!!! Any ideas on this: |

Offline | Looks like it could be fitted using the GTT re-route pipe - this will delete the silencing box on the right hand side of the car (looking at the car from the rear) I'm not sure that is a borla either How much is it? Offline | The guy says: "there is a lable on the silencer box it says bvc germany i take it that is the german branch of borla as when i bought it it was sold to me as a borla the part number is bmw m1 cs76t and it says for mini cooper s" It appears to be some kind of german part, but the only link i could find was: http://www.tuning2.de/shop/sportausp...t%20exhaust%22 Anyone got any ideas on this one- would be much appreciated? ![]() |

Offline | Not to be off topic but did'nt want to start a new thread on this.Just installed my Borla yesterday on the cooper, took a chance not hearing it in person and am hily impressed, the note is deeper but not offensive until you step on it,driving in traffic it's on par with the stock exaust, fitting was a breeze,if i had to get picky i'd say the tip is a bit big for my taste, makes it look a bit offensive where the note is not. |
