Best induction kit for MINI one?

Hi all
I have read most of the posts on the forum about filters/induction kits. Was just wondering what the best filter would be? An does anyone know of any dry filters for the MINI, as i have heard that they usually are less restrictive than wet filters??? Im not really looking for a performance increase (although any additional power is always good !) but want my 1.6 lump to scream! lol
Thanks in advance
Andy

Hmmmmm i really dont know what to do now??? I phoned my insurance company earlier on and they will not insure a car with modifications, simply because of my age . So now i have 2 options,
1. Drill the airbox to acheive the soundtrack that i want (friends have done this to there cars???). However this isnt very attractive and is kinda chavvy lol. This i dont think will count as an addition to the car...
2. Buy the pipercross filter and in the event of having to make a claim throw on the airbox...although its quite risky not notifying the insurance company however.
I appreciate the advice loads, cheers

Like VOSTIG I also have LOHEN Pipercross, over 4k it will give you plenty of "snaaaaaaaarrrrrllll" and adds a few hp to the power. But it goes much better with the Bluefin chip.

did the hole and it works very well on the cooper and dosent make a nose diff to sound chavvy my cooper put out 130 bhp on a rolling rd with this done not sure how much i gained thow i think 3 bhp check about a pannel filter cos its a repacemnt part and they some times dont count it as a mod but tell em as just after i fitted my k&n i had a crash that was my fault and cos i told em they paid out in full no questions

Sorry vonstig i didnt understand your post (its been a bad day) lol. Did you say that u had drilled your airbox and this created the same kinda sound as your aftermarket air filter? If not anyone think i should just risk the air filter??? Good to see local people giving advice! Starting to feel a real sense of MINI community now!

I prefer the K&N cos it needs cleaning less frequently than the foam Pipercross version

lol sorry for my rabbling mate yeah i originly drilled the box just 1 10mm hole but made a nice diff didnt sound much louder but smothed some of the power out but you wont be disappointed with either the K&N 57i or pipercross i can only speak for the K&N but a mate has the pipercross and he likes it

To be honest i think drilling one 10mm hole in the air box makes about as much difference to the power delivery as removing a wiper blade would. I'd love for someone to prove me wrong tho.....

how dose 130 bhp on a dyno sound as thats what mine ran with this and NO other mods as put is this way it cant exaclty make it slower but it did make the diff to justify the trip to my mates house removing the top and drillimng it = free so i thought it was well worth it

Ok thinking of possibly buying the pipercross??? Did you say that it connects directly onto the hose that exits the airbox? If so it would make reattaching the airbox a really quick job! . Anyways thanks for all the advice guys much appreciated!

yeah means its the quickest to fit / remove and means only the top of the box and fliter needs removed i think so basicly 2 bolts and the filer ist fixed just lifts out not 100% sure on the bottom but its not hard to remove either

Ok had a wee think about it. Before i spend my cash, ill phone round some scrap yards and try and find a write-off MINI. Get the airbox and drill it, see if i like it and if not i wont have wasted anything....and can then purchase a filter! Also after reading about the Bluefin..im going to start saving my pennies for it!

in truth i think about 124 ish and about 126 witht he hole cos i ran the dyno on a freezing january day so the ambient air temp gave me a few more horses but my cars always pulled well as there were other coopers there that day as well both had typhoon kits and one had a play mini zorst and they come off at 130 as well but their toruqe band was better than mine thats the real plus of the induction kit not some much bhp but it just feels more refined and you can relay push it to the red line without bouncing off the limiter
