What is a strut brace meant to do? My Mini seems pretty good at handling all that is put in front of it?

Hi Guys, we have had a pre-production version of the brand new GTT 'Aerobox' strutbrace on the car for the last couple of days. I will start a thread on it in the next couple of days. The crossbar is 102mm deep by 13mm high 6082T6 solid aluminium bar. It has triangular lightening windows CNC milled along the length ,with a scollop milled around the oil filler gap area. This is a very very strong piece of kit with maximised resistance to movement in tension, compression, twisting and bending . If you want a top strurbrace that actually works as well as looking good this is for you. We will test it on the circuit at Castle Combe on Sat 30th sept.

No not yet Andy, we are producing another one as we speak, this will have 2 additional triangular winows one at each end, to further reduce weight. It then needs polishing and the GTT stainless steel badge put on it ,then we should be ready to show it.

Hi Al, yes any induction kit which seals against the underside of the bonnet will need a cutout made in it to clear any strutbrace. We often mod the GTT Cold Ram for use with cars fitted with OMP or JCW strutbraces. If you order ed the GTT Strutbrace we could mod your GTT Cold Ram for £10+vat if you send it down . For GTT Cold Rams 'on the car' it is £15+vat. Once we have established the exact position where the GTT strutbrace crosses over the GTT filter we can produce future batches with the cutout put in at the production stage. Either way is very neat, the rubber trims butt against the Strutbrace with no gaps so no hot air is allowed through .

Spoke to forge ,apparently my strut brace is an early model that they had to recall due to the interferance with the bonnet, but they have agreed to machine mine so it fits with no obstruction and as for my bonnet well im getting the stone chips done so the two high spots will have to be done at the same time, but the strut brace is such good quality im happy that i will stil be able to use it.

Hi Roland,

Could you supply a "cutting template" with the strut brace so that your strut brace would fit?

Ta,

Al
