Stock airbox?

HI all
Was just wondering if anyone had a stock ONE/COOPER airbox they would like to part with? I want to try a modification to this airbox, but do not want to use the one on my car just now - basically because if i screw up the car in someway i have no way of getting to uni! I have already phoned round most salvage yards in my area and they have no MINI's (spose its good that people aint crashin them)
cheers, Andy

Hi Andrew...

What are you going to do to it?

The risk to your car is so little... I would just follow some mod that has been done many times before... and you will be ok....

Im planning a few mods 2 it, first of all drilling quite a substancial amount of it away . And adding an aftermarket panel filter. Hopefully to release some horses and get a nice sound. And also alternative air flow to it, and i have read on the forums about this resonator box hose, although dont know if it will be effective after drilling it? Currently saving up for a bluefin. Does the bluefin change the sound of the car at all?
cheers Andy

Dont think the bluefin would change any sound.... its software and its just the induction that makes the sound...

Why dont you just go for a cone type filter, thus removing the current airbox?

If you are going for a panel filer, you will be spending the same amount of cash anyway...

A cone filter would certainly get you more induiction roar...

The main reason i want to keep the stock airbox is because my insurance will not let me put any modifiacations on the car because of my age! Or do i just risk not telling them???

I take it the JCW filter is the panel filter for the airbox? BTW did you get your MINI from fairbairns? Andy
