Would this replacement filter actually improve performance at all, or would it just make the engine sound a bit louder?

Improves Fuel Economy
Increases Power
Washable and Reusable
Will NOT Void Vehicle Warranty
Lasts up to 50,000 miles before service is required

You would notice no increase in noise, mainly just more responsive acceleration

I'm getting one until I get my Works Induction kit

the MINI has gone...

How much power increase - can't be much?
How can you have increase in acceleration without using more fuel?

I wouldn't have beleived it if I didn't do it myself. My friend and I both have Cooper "S" and have been racing cars for years. We race the mini's from a first gear roll and I always beat him by about a car and a half(he weighs 80lbs.more then me).Last week he came over and we put the K&N filter in his car only. Went out and raced from a first gear roll like usual.I started to pull on him in first and second. As soon as we went into third he passed me. I could not beleive it !!! We pulled over, put the K&N in my car and I beat him like usual. The K&N makes a big difference. I might have never really known if we didn't race each other all the time.I sure as Hell wouldn't have beleived it as many of you might not either.

Can't wait for the Nitrous, header, exhaust and intake !!!!!!!

You can find a tuned equal length stainless steel header at Mini Mania (www.minimania.com)! It's not street legal in the US, but I won't tell...

I have just placed mine and on first tryouts the car seems to run smoother and it picks up earlier ...
I know from my previous car that it also should drop the consumption but I will only notice it in a few weeks.

I'll have to race my mate with his audi convertible again untill I know the difference in power and pick up

If you're interested in the score ... I've beaten him 3 times already when pulling from green light..
And the best part of all ... I'm loaded a lot heavier than him

More news in a few weeks

Fitted my K&N this evening and have been out and driven about 40 miles

The engine seems smoother and more responsive at lower revs, nothing amazing but it's certainly an improvement of the original! When you look at the original filter it's hard to imagine air passing through at all

No noise increase which is a good thing IMHO.

Fuel consumption seems good considering I have been 'giving it some' to try and notice performance gains

the MINI has gone...

I might have to order myself one of these. Will I be able to swap it between my current ONE to my COOPER when I get it?
