Offline | LOL, good off you to offer a discount should someone want to donate a £22k car for experimental research and design use. I wouldnt loan mine to anyone, even BMW, to do this type of work on, no matter a tuners reputation. Still, maybe someone will value an 8bhp raise on their GP more than this... ![]() |

Offline | Nothing to do with an anti GP , I actually really like the car now. However, if i were lucky enough to own one, i wouldnt want a company doing R&D work on it, experimenting on the engine management software, for the offer of a discount. I think the offer is derisable, and insulting. The cost of a GP is £22k, if you can get one. It comes with a warranty. such 'experimentation' would at least invalidate said warranty, and possibly much more. I'd be looking for a couple of grand before letting a company experiment on my car, personally. |

Offline | Agree with you on that one, and honestly whats the point in developing one for the GP? very restricted market (2000 cars.......) and how many of those owners are going to mod their cars in this way? Its a very difficult job and the only way to get through it is we all work together as a team..... |

Offline | Ahem.......cough........I seem to remember it wasn't that long ago that someone's engine died a death with the bluefin/superchips remap.........would still be nice to know what the cause was? Would agree with Tony |

Offline | If i had 22k tommorow to spend i would expect to forget about a remap for a GP and go and buy an Audi TT 3.2 instead, and then see if that extra gave me the edge Some people and the GP thing, its ment to be a Fun car the New Mini, but when you get past the 20K mark there are plenty of faster Fun cars to be had, bluefin or not JR |

Offline | Would agree with Goonery, waste of money and time IMOA, it might make the drive a little smoother? If I could have afforded the GP in the first place the last thing I would want to do is spoil the car, remember someone had the bluefin / superchips remap done on their S with other engine mods and it knackered the engine, now would you wanna risk that on your GP? It's not a myth, the risks are there, so you takes your risk. It's it a bit late reverting back to the original map after the event. If you want more power then buy something else ![]() |

Offline | Probably right Aston. So you post on a website clearly showing your GP roof number, state you are using the car for development and do not expect anyone from MINI to be reading this..........as Aston says Bye bye warranty I thought that Mini could now see that the car had been re-mapped? something about a hidden flag on the system now? Its a very difficult job and the only way to get through it is we all work together as a team..... |

Offline | The owner does after all get a 'discount' on a bluefin remap..... wow, well worth the potential cost.... Wonder if they are paying his other costs too - time, petrol etc..... |
