Offline | exhaust questions i have some wuestions because when i look for the answers i get a mix of yes and no. so once and for all does putting a header with no cat make you go into limp mode are there any actual cases of ppl going into a limp mode from doing this, and im looking to go custom on the exhaust (side exhaust) with a side pipe coming out of the fender is this possible or is the mini's undercarriage not have the nessessary space? just need to know cant look cuz my mini is at the dealer for servicing and repairs. i think the side exhaust would give interesting gains. |

Offline | Yes you can get a warning light for the cat ,out of range, it is a warning light only not a "limp home" mode, you can buy simulators to keep the light off Mini Cooper S Parts and Accessories New & Classic - Mini Mania With a side exit exhaust you will lose some ground clearance, and the exhaust noise will be along side your ear drums all the time ,it could drive you crazy! also exhaust fumes could be drawn back into the car interior, another thing would be the temperature of the tip which would be likely to melt your plastic sills. and to cap it all you may well lose power due to the un tuned length of the exhaust |
