Offline | I need a clutch and a flywheel!!! Hello everyone, my 03 Cooper S needs urgently a new clutch and flywheel. I dont have any engine mods and i am confused what to install. Shall i install the same stock one or shall i upgrade it to a more racing or heavy duty one? Can you give me some brands and types that are good? Thanks in advance |

Offline | the oem clutches do not have a long life, and for the work required to change it ,an upgraded one would make sense, heavy duty clutches DO NOT mean they are heavy to operate, they are in fact lighter to operate than stock ,but they bite harder and last longer with power upgrades,We sell the SPEC clutches in various linings and have had no issues with them. The lightweight flywheel works well on the one/cooper it saps less power than stock and does not effect the engine idle like the S flywheel, and runs quieter. Thw only negative thing with light fly wheel and clutch is slightly more RPM required when pulling away from a standstill perhaps 200 or so. however a MINI one with remap, exhaust, and filter only produced 140 bhp on the dyno where exactly the gains were made is unknown as all items were done at the same time but I suspect 10 bhp plus was due to the fly/clutch |

Offline | So, what you recommend for me in the sense i dont want a full racing spec clutch that is going to make my car shatter every time i de-press it. I want a upgraded version of the stock one but also to be user friendly for daily driving. I dont have a problem of the clutch to be more racing lets say but not too much as my S is my daily driver. |

Offline | for a road car the stage 1 organic or stage2 kevlar clutch would be the one to go for and lightweight options if you are feeling flush, for a road cooper s the flywheel would probably not be suited as its really for the performance minded who are oblivious to lots of noise and only want to go fast |
