Offline | Spark plug upgrades? Has anyone done a spark plug upgrade yet? I tried to go out this weekend and get the Bosch platinum spakr plugs but they couldn't find a part number to fit the MINI yet. Bosch gaurantees you'll feel an improvement or your $$ back. If you've upgraded can you list some part numbers? Thanks! |

Offline | Have you looked at the standard spark plugs yet? They are NGK 4 conductor platinum plugs. I doubt you'll find anything better unless you go to 4 conductor iridium $$$ Picked up the car on Aug 6, 10,200 miles already IB/W Cooper, Rogue Exhaust, Magnecor Wires, K&N filter, Porterfield Brakes. | MINI2 Master | Im waiting for a response from Autolite for a copper plug part number. Nobody seems up to date on this little car. I wouldnt use the Bosch 4 plugs. I've heard of the electrodes breaking off and wrecking the engine in another car enthusiast forum. As cool as it sounds to have "platinum plugs", platinum is used to for longer service intervals and has nothing to do with performance. -- Cheese |

Offline | Plug Thoughts from the UK Hi Guys, Just spent some time researching the best plugs for my motorcycle, I was interested in performance / throttle response - the bike I own a BMW R1150GS comes with Bosch four prong Plugs as standard I have found along with many others that NGK plugs have made quite a big inprovement to my motorcycle in terms of drivability , so it might be worth investigating this route. Not a lot of help but I'm running NGK 2 BKR7EKC-N (NGK R) in my bike aposed to the standard Bosch ones. MINIHAHA |

Offline | Just saw your note re spark plugs. I upgraded to NGK Platinum PFR7B around 6 months ago as I run NOS and the BMW plugs cannot cope with the pressure. I thought the car instantly ran smoother but it may have been auto suggestion. Regards Jon |

Offline | Plugs The best plug for performance would be a copper plug. I'm sure with the plug numbers you have you could probably find a NGK-R that matches. The downside is that you'll have to change the plugs more often since copper is kind of soft when compared with other metals. MCS IB/IB, SPRT, PREM, Aero kit, RE90s |
