Fitting GTT Manifold Help !!

The day started well

fitted gtt Cold Induction kit in around 10 minutes simple compared to the Alta fitting

this boded well for the impending job of fitting the manifold

started on the manifold everything came apart with ease

back section split from manifiold 2 heat shields removed manifold loosened and then released, O2 sensors removed.

after 6 hours 1 large pizza two small garlic breads packet of chicken strips and wedges
could we get the mnifold past the front antiroll bar could we stuff as like

anyone know the right trick to this without dismantling the front end please?
FEltt defeated and generally gutted

If i can't win i won't play......

Hi David, you need to remove the big thin alloy shield underneath the car that sits in the tunnel against the body (8mm socket) . Feed the front lefthand end in first . This 'feeding in in' bit should take about 30 seconds ,just watch the gearchange linkage cables as it goes in.

only had around 12 inchees 2 foot under the car on axle stands

or are we talking about all the shielding held in with tiny

If i can't win i won't play......

I didnt remove anything when I fitted mine. Took me 6.5 hours and involved using a large lump hammer.

6.5 hours slow coach i removed all the bits roland said and it took me about three hours i think more by luck as the manifold came out and went back in first time without causing any swearing and it was all on done on axle stands and ramps but i agree if it dont fit hit it with a hammer

I also had to jack the car up higher as my ramps werent big enough to allow the manifold to drop out the bottom. A BMW tech told me he could do it in 45 mins....

i had my hydraulic jack and axle stands but just a small one so the axle stands were on the lowest setting.

i took me 30 minutes to put it back together i reckon if i could get htis out easy i could do it in aboout 1 and half hours including jacking time.

If i can't win i won't play......

Did you damage any of the clips in the heat shield tunnell when you did it and if not how did you get them out.
