Offline | Which Sports Exhaust Hi, Thinking of upgrading to a sports exhaust when my standard exhaust need replacing. I want a sports system, possibly stainless but I want something that's not too loud, in fact not much louder than standard. Any suggestions? ![]() |

| OllyH | Hi I was thinking of looking for an exhaust too - only problem is being 18 - the insurance companies won't be keen will they? My exhaust is wearing out, started with a metallic rattling which has been getting a bit worse. I'd put up with that for the pops and bangs it is making on the overun though! |

Offline | Stock Sports here I'm clearly in the minority, but went with the MINI Sports exhaust option ($675). Simply love the sound and the look. My MA said it was her first one ever sold. Lots of cheaper aftermarket stuff out there. Guess I'm kind of a purist. Almost 2 years now and I still smile when I tap the throttle! Motor on! ![]() |

Offline | Installed a MyMini touring exhaust on my 03 MC. I love it, just a little bit louder than stock, deep tone and no highway resonance. List for $449 with resonator, but you can deal with Pete. It's 304 stainless with an oval shaped tip. Carefully Selected, High-Quality Mini Products : : : MyMini Parts Robert Stancliff Sr. |

Offline | I'd check with your insurance co first just in case, for us oldies (I'm 39) it's not really a concern but I remember when I was 18 I had an original Mini with sporst wheels, exhasut etc, I sent in a phot to the insurance but I don't remember it me costing me, I think so long as you tell them you'll be okay. Offline | The JCW sound kit exhaust for the ONE/Cooper is pretty good on them...for an S I suggest a Milltek as its reasonable below 3k rpm but once above 4k it starts to get very smart. Does not drone on the motorway as long as the throttle is kept gentle...and mines running a Milltek manifold and cat too so its very very loud when the pedal is to the metal ![]() |
