| The Power Cube | Yes, I am. Instead of just glueing it in place, i am going to unbolt the JCW badge and then glue two bolts to the back of the GTT badge, then bolt it in place. Hence the "Does anyone know of a good METAL glue?" question... Full removal of the front bumper required too, so also need to find out where to place axel stands... nothing is straight forward is it.... Offline | hmmm i remeber to stick stuff to aluminium can be tricky when i broke stuff at work but roland acctuly had a post about this and they made a separte plate bolted that through the grill and then used some sort of silicone sealer to attch the badge to the plate as i know form repairng and sealing bits of the plant at work slicnoce and aluminium stick quite well also due to the nature of the grill its not adviabe to stick stight onto it hence the backing plate |

| The Power Cube | Was the back of your badge smooth metal? I imagine the hot glue had the benefit of bonding with the plastic grille more than cold silicone? Am still favouring the metal glue with bolts as a permenant fixture. Cheers, K. ![]() Too many mods to list, PM me if the cat needs killing... |

Offline | hot glue is good beacuse it still retains as certian ammount of vicousness and dosnt totaly solidify much the same as silicone but from stuff ive repiard at work i know siliconce dose the trick on a long tream (parts on grain dyrers exposed to heat and frost in equal measure) and it holds (dosent stick rubber very well thow for some resaon) also if at any point you wish to remove it id opt for bolting as if its siliconed stright on rather than to a backing plate dont expect an easy time removing the silicone as if glue in stright on go for the hot glue as its easier to remove |

Offline | Clear bathroom silicon sealant works very well for this, we also use it to affix many of the TT interior trim parts we do. Needs a warm garage to set enough to stay in place after 5 mins. Nice & strong ,sticks to most surfaces, even uneven ones (plastic, ali, stainless etc) ,yet can be pulled off (just) if you need to. Metal glues (araldite etc) are IMO a bit OTT for a badge Best Regards Roland GTT ![]() |

| The Power Cube | I hear you. But it did not work for me, and i could see silicone sealant behind the badge. I also need to unbolt my JCW badge, so i may as well do the job properly, and i can see how it can be done perfectly with some bolts and metal glue. It sounds elaborate, but the end result is pure genius Ahem Cheers, K. ![]() Too many mods to list, PM me if the cat needs killing... |

| Thinking Minis | I made a small plate to fit behind the badge, this had 2 countersunk holes in it, I bolted it into place on the grill, you could use small self tappers (then no need to remove bumper). The using double sided foam backed tape ( the same as you use to fit number plates) I stuck the badge to the plate! job done. Lucky is a way of life (tm) 243.5 bhp & 205.3 ft lb |
