I have fitted a JCW airbox to my MCS, it is a modded one from John Cooper Motorsport so has no flap on it ( ie always open)

However keep seeing this GTT Hybrid filter to replace the Standard BMW cone one that came with the box.

Bottom line is it worth changing to the GTT version as its another £90, anybody done it, and what sort of difference was noted, ie louder, better pull etc. Cheers all

I too have the JCM race filter for my MCS - I was going to get the GTT filter element - but can't really justify the extra cost at present - although there are some gains - it's just not worth it at the moment - for the money. Maybe once the stock filter I have has a few more thousand miles on it or if I finally book for the performance package I'll change it then.

Have it on my GTT 210 as i am using the jcw air filter, makes a much better sound and i personally thing it's worth it.

I know someone who runs some other GTT stuff and works bits on his S and he said that the GTT filter inside his JCW box was a massive improvement...In fact he rekoned it gave more of a boost to his hybrid S than a lot of the other stuff he has done! :shock:

You do certainly notice a scream and the car rockets once that flap opens

I also have the JCM filter fitted to my std. MCS ( with MTH file ) and dont fancy drilling holes to fit GTT setup. Anybody have part no's / stockists for the k&N filter, because the USA guys seem to fit these instead.
