Offline | ECU tuning the ONE Hi all, please don't blast me as I am a newbie and probably about to ask an over simplified question... Okay, my wife has an '03 One and she is disappointed with the lack of low down torque. The car is out of warranty and we are soon to fit a stainless perfomance rear box (although I doubt this will add anything) which was cheaper than a stock replacement. I want the ecu remapped for more driveability therefore torque rather than peak power. The cheapest I have spotted so far is £185. Now I know that this is an awful lot for a plug into the obd1 (or obd2) port, a download and a spin of a lap top... Can I buy the cables and software necessary for this elsewhere? Are there free sources for software? Or am I able to find an outlet to do it for less than £185? Does anyone have a recommendation? Cheers! Johnna |

Offline | It's not the sort of thing you want to skimp on really, the more you can spend the better, I wouldnt be looking for the cheapest I'd look for one with a good reputation etc. Personally I can recommend the Bluefin remap which is a small box with a lead they send to your house and you keep it so you can un-remap it and remap it whenever you want. In the long-run it will probably save money. It was about £300 when I got it but I think its on sale for a lower price at Welcome To Lohen.co.uk - New Mini Tuning and Performance Specialists |

| It's only a one... Honest | Totally seconded - the prices don't seem to vary that greatly but don't go down the route of an unknown tuner with little or no reputation. Lohen did my car, £365 got me a Bluefin + superior iridium plugs and a panel filter upgrade. Worth every penny in my opinion as it totally transformed the vehicle. I can be much lazier in the gears when I want to, much faster off the mark and far more powerful through all gears. They claim around 130bhp is now being produced.. quite a bit more than a standard Cooper and 30% over a One - which I'd easily believe. |

Offline | Lohen have got christmas deals on too...so the bluefin might be even cheaper if you go to Welcome To Lohen.co.uk - New Mini Tuning and Performance Specialists and click the christmas specials ![]() Cables for software installation via laptop are about £50-100 anyway so once you add this and shipping to the costs for the map, £189 you will have paid as much for that as for the bluefin, plus it can be returned to standard at the flick of a switch using AMD one click or bluefin. Plus superchips have a very very good rep and provide a warrantee on thier maps as do AMD. R |

Offline | 1andy, you cheeky bugger, that was the one I was after! Congratulations mate. Just a pity we can't share them. I have read that they are registered to one car and one car only. The seller told me I'd not have any problems if I bought his. Just make sure you try it out quickly and ensure that it works. Please let me know what the improvement is like! |
