| ICMINI | Need help asap Ok i'll try to explain the problem. When i'm driving and the revs seem to hit about 5000 the car seems to hesitate almost pause for a second then its fine and you can power on. I know hitting 5000 rpm isn't ordinary driving it's just i noticed it a few times and it causes me concern that it could be a larger problem. Recently i did that VGS (i think thats the term) and i followed the instructions precisely. The only thing i had an issue with is the hosing for the boost line, it wouldn't reach the entire way so it is joined into another piece of hose so it is able to run the whole way to the engine bay. The join for these hoses is just inside the cabin before the grommet that your suppose to use to feed the line through. I have noticed that when in idle a slight hissing sound can be heard coming from the passenger side and when accelerator is pressed the hissing stops. I believe that air is escaping through the boost hoses where they join and my question is, would this be the cause of the slight hesitation at 5000rpm or is it something else? If this isn't the problem does anyone know what it may be. Any help would be fantastic. Perry Mini Cooper S - EB/WR |

| Cruising In The Minge | mate it could be, recently I had a boost guage fitted at the dealers, they found it worked fine on first press of the accelerator but when you pressed again there was no boot at all. After reconnecting the hose to a different part of the engine the problem was solved, apparently was too close to some sensor that it didnt like. ![]() 2002 PS/PS JCW MC 1970 BRG/W MK2 Morris Cooper S |

Offline | If you have 'T' eed your guage off the line coming off the inlet manifold that goes on to the fuel pressure regulator and have a leak you will have problems. ie overfuelling at part throttle and underfuelling at full throttle. -fix the leak . Best Regards Roland GTT ![]() |
