DIY HELP! w/ JCW intake

Today iīve been trying to installl the intake on a friendīs car and we did not had the hose that connects the filter to the vacuum.

What happens if you dont connet it?

We did all the installation excepting that part and we did not manage to hear the whine changing at 4500 rpms.
Is this related with the not connected hose?
I have pushed well the red wire so i think this is not the problem.
What are the yellow and withe/red cables for?? I think them are well tiwsited but what can happens if they are not??
Thanks

Without the hose you won't have any vaccuum to work the solenoid and open the flap, so this needs to be connected for it to work.

The wires also need to be connected as follows:

Red wire goes to your fuse box to pin 8.

Yellow wire needs to route to your ECU, in particular the connector closest to the windscreen and you're looking to splice and join the red/white wire that comes from pin 113 with the yellow wire.

This is the rev pulse wire and so it's important you connect this so that the unit knows when to open and close the flap.

Also don't forget to earth the black wire...

But if we remove the flad there is no need to connect the wires right?

Heres a question if you are removing the JCW airbox or are fitting the JC motorsport airbox, what do you do with the vacuum pipe? Do you shut some valve or do you just leave this pipe lying open ended???? Seems a little odd if thats the answer
