which upgrade?

help, not sure which way to go bigger intercooler or better? manifold or nothing
i think quite a few of us end up with jcw type performance the official way or aftermarket
with pulley and intake upgrades,
but after about 210hp
the law of diminishing returns hits you like a wall, with every extra hp costing over £100 each without a understanding bank manger or a lotto jackpot to help out how far is realistic on a limited budget, i am sure to maximise each options potential you should have both, but in the real world with day to day driving which will give you the best return for your hard earnt wedge,

came up with a 5k wish list the other day, wheels, tyres, suspension, brakes, aero, sound system, etc without even trying

any ideas?

I have got Alta intake, Alta OCC, Alta 15% pulley, Miltek manifol, Miltek exhaust (plus ancilleries such as sparks etc), I also have a self adjusted bypass valve, like GTT do. According to Lohen/GTT kit lists this will produce approx 210-230 bhp depending on the quality of my cars map etc. The car also has 35mm KW springs, OMP strut braces and JCW brakes with slotted rear discs. All this FITTED and inc VAT for less than £2500

You just need to know the right people and get a good deal on ebay etc. My Alta gear cost me £250 including postage from the USA (its nearly 350-400 over hear for the same stuff posted) and my milltek manifold and exhaust cost me £270 for the pair!

Be prepared to shop around and you can get you wish list for very cheap prices...Oh and make friends with a mechanic or at least a good raport with your local garage/fitters

sexual favours i reckon. lol i think that was ebay if i remember right. he was there in the right time right place and the seller was selling the right item at the wrong time for him.

My milltek for manifold and exhaust has come to £810 fitted. I managed to get £100 off the asking price of the manifold alone. The comapny i used could not source the Janspeed manifold cos i was not prepares to pay £570 for the milltek manifold, so they phoned me back and said how much had i been quoted for the janspeed by Lohen, so i said oh £470 and they said no probs we will do the milltek for £470 fitted, result!!!, being fitted this week. that will do me till summer when i will get the GTT220 conversion.
