United-States LordOfTheFlies Engine Damper

Hello,

I would like to formally introduce my Engine Damper Kit to MINI2.

We all know that the stock engine mount on 2002-2006 MINI Coopers does not do an adequate job of holding the engine in place during hard shifting. My kit reduces unnecessary engine flex, resulting in smoother, faster shifts, and gives the driver a more direct connection to the car. It makes motoring even more enjoyable than it already is!

The kit I have developed mounts directly to the engine block and the frame, requiring no drilling or modification of stock parts*. All necessary hardware required for installation is included with the kit.

This kit works for all MINIs and all model years from 2002 - 2006. It is a bit harder to install on automatic MCSa since the whole engine is shifted closer to the frame area).

In order of who will feel the most difference (as far as I can theorize and as far as I have heard since I have not tested it on the MCS auto personally)

MCS manual
MC manual
MCS automatic
MC CVT

*****Note: Brackets Are Neccessary for 2002 model year and 2002 BUILD YEAR 2003 model year cars. To check your build date, look at the sticker on your driver side door jam.

I have sold several hundred kits so far and in case the text above looks familiar to some of you, I provide these kits to Helix (one of the most reputable MINI tuners here in the states).

I have sold dampers to the following locations so far:

United States
Puerto Rico
Canada
Singapore
Thailand
England
Germany
Australia
Hong Kong

Pricing is as follows:

Damper $55

Early model year bracket $20

Shipping (No bracket)

US $7
Outside US $10

Shipping (damper + bracket)

US $10
Outside US $13

Shipping (bracket only)

Worldwide $6

All three colors (red, blue, silver) are now in stock, as are the early model year brackets.

Below are pics of the unit showing the colors available as well as installed.

Installation requires basic skills and some basic tools. Once you install it you'll wonder how you ever lived without it!

Paypal is the preferred method of payment and all orders are shipped via USPS Priority Mail (or Global Priority Mail)

Please contact me via e-mail (sales@shoe-in.net) should you have any questions.

Happy motoring everyone!

For the mods I have given permission via PM by SoggyCornFlakes to post my wares for sale until a final vendor agreement has been reached agreed upon with MINI2

Here are some of the comments from my customers - I think they speak for themselves:

Quote:
"The end result after several weeks of driving is WOW."

"I got my engine damper installed tonight and I love it!!!!!! It's awesome!"

"Smooth is the best description."

"The transition from gear to gear feels much smoother."

"The engine damper has fixed the torque steer problem I was having. No matter how hard I try, it's totally gone - amazing!"

"I have a March 03' build MCS and installed mine today with no problems. It took about 10 minutes to install. I used a 11/16" wrench instead of the 17mm and it still worked just fine."

"On my test drive I felt it in the shifting, more 'crisp' and communicative... There is a directness to the shifting that I never felt before in my car... And that shudder getting going in 1st gear is minimized..But I think this mod really shines when you let 'er rip .. The power just goes down, much more direct, and a much less sloppy feeling than before..."

"Over here in Germany we drive a little bit faster we all suffer from those vibrations and engine-movement when shifting under high load and especially in nice corners. The engine movement has stop completely and I can say this was one of the unexpensive but most noticeable mods to do!"

"As far as how I feel about it? I think it has been the best $ (I forgot how much plus shipping) I've spent. The change in the response of the car was immediate. Throttle response was improved dramatically or at least it felt like it. The engine felt solidly connected to the rest of the car. It feels a lot smoother at take off and into the whole rev range. It just make the car feel solid. There is less jerking when releasing the throttle when at high RPM's for a shift. As far as more pronounced feel of engine movement through the steering column and the rest of the car that everyone else seems to feel, I actaully feel less. It made me wonder if I may have had a bad engine mount, but I've looked and I don't. The damper has made a great improvement to the general feel of the car."

"I am using a damper on an MC convertible. It makes the drivetrain more responsive to the clutch and accelerator, because the engine has less free movement before it "engages". In terms of bang for the buck, I doubt that you'll find any mod that gives you as much effect for the cost. What it did for my driving experience is that I feel better and more immediate feedback and control. For example shifting is improved because less energy gets spooled up into the engine movement while getting on and off the clutch.

S and Cooper use the same stock engine mounts, so a damper will have the same effect on either. The reviews from S owners are equally valid for Coopers."

Thanks!

On the later model years I should also mention that space is tight at the engine block mounting hole but all that is required are some basic tools (stubby 17mm wrench, 17mm socket, telescopic magnet and/or tape) and a bit of patience.

It is very straightforward and takes me 10 minutes to install.
