Offline | Milltek Exhaust Fitting (gaskets etc) Hiya all, I am getting my Milltek exhaust fitted tomorrow afternoon and the garage who are fitting it have asked if it requires new gaskets? I am under the impression the Milltek uses the standard MCS gaskets, hangars etc. Am I correct? Is there anything else I need? The exhaust doesnt come with anything apart from the actual 'exhausty parts' (ie. centre pipe and tail pipes) Thanks for any help! Nick Just bought a Mini Cooper S !! |

Offline | Mate. Depending on how many sections yours came in then it will require at least 2 gaskets. There is a gasket that fits between the centre main pipe and the stock manifold/cat. There is also another gasket that joins the centre pipe at the other end to the back box section. These are available from Milltek if you ring them. I was advised that for a temporary fix you can fit together with exhaust paste or silicone exhaust sealant. Probably best to get the proper jobs though. If it was second hand then the gaskets might still be attached to the ends of the centre pipe and a bit of paste to help it will do the job. The centre pipe is sometimes in 2 sections and that needs sliding together and pasting up and clamping so it wont blow, even if its already together it might be best to seperate it and fit together again as the moving on and off the car can cause it to break the seals and blow once on the car. Hangers are attached to the back boxes/centre pipe and just re-use the MINI rubbers already on the car. You need the various bolts/nuts that clamp the back box to the centre pipe and the centre pipe to the cat...but you might be able to re-use the MINI ones for this (I got mine from Milltek themselves though) You also need the D or U clamp that clamps the 2 sections of the centre pipe together. Good luck chap...you'll love the noise though when its together and seled against any blowing! ![]() R |
