| Loui The Mini Dude | Fuel Consumption On A Mini Cooper Hi everyone. I've been slightly worried about how much fuel my Mini is using... it's costing me a fair bit. I have a Mini Cooper on a 52 Plate, the only mod I have done to it is add a K&N Induction kit. I don't drive it stupid or fast yet i'm only getting 48miles to a tenner... Is this normal, does anyone have any ideas on what maybe the problem? Thanks in adavance!! Lewis ![]() |

Offline | Miles per tenner is a new consumption measurement for me ![]() I'm guessing it's about 18-19 mpg based on 86p per litre? That is way too low really, what is your driving style? Mostly town stop/start or longer motorway trips? ![]() |

Offline | The only mod you've done is the induction kit, so I'd put the original air box back on. Then reset the ECU (negative battery lead off for 5 minutes or so) and go for a drive. Actually, might be worth resetting the ECU with the K&N already on to see if it is the ECU or the K&N ![]() ![]() |

Offline | I've a 02 cooper i get around 35-37 mpg if i'am using just normal supermarket petrol however if iam using optimax / v-power it'd be closer to 40mpg. Thats with a some town and city driving but mostly country A-B roads. |

![]() Now with added GRRRR | Miles per tenner - must be some sort of new EU measurement unit we are going to have to use in the future or is it a test for carrying opera singers? I get anything between 28 mpg (towns and twisty roads) and 38 mpg taking it easy on motorways |

Offline | I get about the same as Gristie, have had up to 42 mpg on a really steady motorway run (60-65mph with the bike rack on) - drops rapidly to high twenties zipping about town. ![]() |
