All booked in for GTT 220 and maybe extras

After 6 months MCS ownership ( can't believe i waited this long....lol) i have taken the plunge and booked her in for the GTT treatment. Been looking at all the different options on the market, however after i had spoken to Roland, my mind was made up and the car was booked in this morning. Not till end of April, but still gives me something to look forward to. Best bit is its about a week before i go to the Nurburgring.

Provisionaly gone for GTT220 conversion but with Hybrid JCW filter, the tensioner upgrade and i am contemplating the -1% crank pulley. Has anyone had that done on here and more importantly anyone have it done after a GTT220 conversion.

Anything else thats not too expensive i should look at whilst there??

Good choice :-)

I'd suggest: oil catch can and snoot boots.

GTT, GRS, Janspeed, JCW, OMP + various other bits - 232.6bhp, 191.2lbft on 1320's rolling road

i may do the snoot boots, but they would ned to be black. Oil catch can again ould be black, but trying to keep it very stealth under the bonnett. which is the reason for keeping th JCW filter.

I can see an intercooler upgrade as a definate come the summer though.

That means they'll be 2 GTT cars in the rainham sittingbourne area.

What's involved is leaving your MINI with GTT for a day, then driving all the way home with a ........and a lighter wallet

See here for further details GT TUNING MINI PARTS & PERFORMANCE CONVERSION Fitted Performance Packages

Ant, I've got the 1%pulley but had it done at the same time so can't say how much difference it made, but overall it's great

Thumbs up

I'd definitely go for the oil catch can if you are planning on changing the IC at a later date.

Had to empty my oil catch can for the first time since Nov 2006 (when installed) recently, only a little bit of oil but I would assume it would be inside my IC if not for the oil catch can.

Yes looks like they are now getting common is Medway/Swale now :-)

GTT modification stage

I'm sure Roland would prefer to tell you this himself, but you can find all the details on his website at GT Tuning.

I have the 1% Oversized crank pulley fitted - abs. no issues with it. The OEM part is 5lbs in weight, GTT part is 1lb in weight - so great for aiding rev response.

The GTT 220 modification package includes:

GTT220+ ecu remap + optimised bypass valve + high temp iridium sparkplugs + GTT supercharger pulley + shorter 'stickier' drive belt + GTT twin bearing idler pulley. + GTT 'cold ram' induction system £995+vat FITTED

...but you can add or take away certain parts to make it a bespoke package, then becoming GTT225 or GTT215 etc... it depends on what you have fitted - Roland will advise.

Cheers,
K.

I've had my GTT220+ kit, tensioner package, +1% lightweight crank pulley and 2 x struts for just under a month and love it to bits!

If you can squeeze the extra cash go for the crank pulley at the same time.

GTT260 - I thought the OEM crank pulley was 7lbs in weight?

Thumbs up 7 not 5

You're quite correct sorry, 7lbs for the OEM crank pulley.

I must have been counting the number of toes on my foot instead .

Cheers,
K.

Hi Guys , yes your all right . The early one is 7 pounds , the later one 5.5 pounds. The GTT one is approx 1 pound. Very worthwhile mod ,all the cars we fit this to(GTT220-GTT260) all feel more lively than the ones without.
Best Regards Roland . GTT

Weight loss

...try removing your rear seats and parcel shelf. Approx 25kg in all.

I never use my rear seats, and now i have a larger boot than most saloons !!!

Have also lost a little weight since christmas so it all adds up. Make sure you never fill up your petrol over halfway too, also an easy weight saver!!

some approches more extreme than others, granted.

Cheers,
K.
