DIY Mechanical Oil Pressure Gauge Tap Location

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I couldn't locate the info I was looking for--so I apologize if this is redundant...

Q: What is the best location to tap the engine for a mechanical oil pressure gauge tube? I've heard some discussion about a ProMini kit you can buy, but I couldn't locate the kit on their website or in their catalog. How does the kit work--is that the way to go? I read somewhere that it taps into the oil filter housing. It seems that would be a pain when changing the oil. Any feedback from someone running this kit would be awesome.

Doesn't the Mini have an OEM oil pressure sender somewhere (for the check engine or oil pressure warning light)? Would it be possible just to purchase a brass tee and tap in to the engine at that location?

Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Austin

The oil pressure switch screws into the oil filter housing, you'll see it located to the left off the starter heat shield if you remove the header shield cover, if you're really lucky you can see the green plug if you look beyond the oil filter housing.
