Samco / Alta silicone induction hoses

Hi

I have the Madness CAI and am keen to replace my stock inlet hose with either the Samco or Alta silicone offering. I would just like to gauge opinions on these before making a purchase.

- I think the Alta is more easily available, but seem to recall others having problems with it being too loose a fit to throttle body / intake.

- Samco have a good reputation but I have not seem this hose mentioned on here before. If it is a better fit than the Alta I'd prefer it, but they seem to have long supply waits (4-6 weeks if not in stock).

Your thoughts and comments appreciated

Alex

I have the Samco hoses. Good fit diameter wise but needed cutting to length. Fiddly job but not taxing. Being hand wound to a pattern means the wait is long if they haven't recently done a batch, but there are quite a few tuners/suppliers out there offering them so you should be ok to get them.

Worst bit is getting the old clips off - easier if you've got the special tool.

Its called a thin blade screw driver and a replacement pack of jubiliee clips Don't try to re-use the stock clips they are crap anyhow

I have the Alta intake on my S and the throttle body fit could be better but if you line things up right and put the clip on right then its not a problem. The samco one might be better but I have no experience (the alta one is designed to fit the Alta intake to the throttlebody not sure if its a direct sized replacment for the stock pipe?

Speak to Lohen as they sell both I think

Didn't say it was impossible thats what i used for that pipe, but have to say, when i did the others and used the (very cheap) tool, it saved a lot of time and bruised knuckles and cursing Especially as the stock TB one is usually underneath the pipe...

Oh yeah tell me about the stock 'clips'... I actually thought they had come undone when I first saw them, but no, they're just useless... presently a cable tie is doing a better job holding stock hose to CAI inlet.

Didn't realise Lohen stocked them both, cheers for the tip.
