Is it getting slower?? 30-50mph and 50-70mph times wanted!

Is there any info anywhere on 30-50 and 50-70mph times?

These would be pretty useful as it doesn't rely on a good starting technique or super grippy tyres etc!

My Mini has been feeling a little sluggish so i thought i'd try the 30-50mph and 50-70mph tests to compare with others:

30-50mph: 4 secs (in second gear, give or take a tenth of a second)

50-70mph: 6 secs (starting in second and ending up in third)

These are obviously pretty inaccurate cos i used the speedo reading and a stopwatch but a rough idea would be nice!

It's a 52 Mini One remapped (OneClick) with a K&N 57i kit.

****I know this isn't quick, i'd just like to compare to see if it feels really slow cos i'm used to the car or if its cos its starting to show its age!!********

From 30 - 50mph, 4 seconds isnt bad. Which version of the OneClick have you got?

I did a 30-50mph test today on the way to see my grandparents, and traveling in 2nd gear at 30mph it takes 3.2seconds to reach 50mph, but i have exhaust mainfold, cat back exhaust, throttle body and running on 17" wheels.

If you have the 110bhp OneClick your result is realy good.

I sometimes feel that my car is sluggish, which normally ends up with me putting my hand in my pocket and buying another mod.

Although it doesnt give alot of bhp i really recomend an enlarged throtle body! It just makes better use of the power you have and makes it feel more lively to drive! Lohens throtle body is on offer at the moment.

Hope this helps#

Arrow Age / Miles

How old is your car, how many miles has it done?

A drop in power may be the first sign of something more sinister... There are known faults that can occur with modern cars, usually to do with sensors failing and timing issues.

I'm not a mechanic by any stretch of the imagination, but i do know that noticable drops in power over a short period of time should be investigated.

I wouldn't rely to much on roling road figures, use you own judgement and sensation of speed you are used to.

Cheers,
K.

Too many mods to list, PM me if the cat needs killing...

Thanks for your comments. I didn't realise there were different versions of the OneClick. Certainly when I bought mine a few years ago the claims were that it'd be the same power as a chipped Cooper (120-ish bhp?) which makes sense as the One is essentially a detuned Cooper.

Its a 2002 with 66k miles up it so I'm not surprised it feels a little tired! I don't think it's anything sinister, there's been no sudden drop in power or anything, as I say it may be psychological!!

I dunno exactly how mich 30/50/70mph is, but have you checked ZePerfs : le site des performances automobiles ??

You can compare cars to each other, their performance and data etc, I think they have those times for 30-50 and 50-70...

This is the direct link:

ZePerfs : le site des performances automobiles

You can choose two models then (puissance = power / horsepower), and then click "Voir le duel" => there you go
