Which belt??

I need to replace the drive belt on my 03 JCW. I know the JCW belt is 14mm shorter than the standard mcs belt and I have a new belt thats used for 15% pulley conversions.

As some people say the jcw pulley is less than 14% will this belt still be ok or should i go for the oem jcw belt?

Cheers

I think that the JCW is a 14.6% reduction, in any case, IMHO the belt tensioner should take care of any slop.

Mods: MiniMania CAI and 15% pulley, Racing Brake front rotors, EBC Green Stuff front pads, ALTA 19mm anti-roll bar

I run stock size belt on a 15% pulley. You should be ok with stock as the pulley you have is 14.6% and as pointed out, the tensioner will take care of the play in the belt.

Hi Guys,On the subject of belts for some reason the latest batch of stock belts from BMW (which shoulb be 1388mm) are about 5mm longer than normal, I reckon a 15% pulley with one ot these and the the tensioner will only be about 1mm of the stop I like to see 12-20mm of available travel when first fitted. You'll never get that using a stock belt with -15% pulley.
Best Regards Roland GTT

Very interesting Roland, I wonder if that was a mistake or what.

so Rolond would you fit your standard shorter belt, the one you'd fit with to a 15% pulley, on a JCW car? It's just i've seen you say the JCW pulley is around 12% and want to make sure it won't be a prob
