Yeah, the Cooper S one does look like that doesn't it? Certainly the Cooper kit looks to be a proper cold air filter. Either they've used the wrong piccy or got the description wrong....

With a bit of ducting to a hole in the slam panel that would work well, although I'm not sure the filter looks big enough the one on my Madness CAI is bigger than that whole thing!


In fact I quite like that idea as the heat shield is a good feature

Yeah that would work well. I'm not very familiar with the Cooper S airbox so I couldn't tell if the end of the cone was going to an intake or not.
