Leaking coolant

Hi,

Parked up last night only to notice a damp patch under the front nearside of the road, on closer inspection this turned out to be coolant fluid, it seems to be dripping from the nearside front of engine. Anyone had a similar thing happen?

I often wonder why it is of all cars I've had I am so willing to put up with my MCS's shortcomings up there high on the list is the fuel consumption on average I get 21mpg in London, I'm sure my Boxster S wasn't far off this and that was a 3.2 lump, and although I've had the GTT220 conversion I haven't seen any improvement in fuel consumption which, I was told, would better slightly and it still doesn't feel quick you really have to push these cars.

Rant over thanks for listening, reply's to my coolant leak much appreciated.

Thanks

Check the coolant expansion tank, these are prone to leaking at the seam on older cars.

As for your rant, erm if it's too slow and thirsty, get something else?

Thats interesting.....I get a pretty good mpg of 23mpg around town but then i'm sat in traffic and never get above 30mph so its expected. However since having all my GTT kit fitted I can cruise at 70mph and get between 35-45mpg depending on surface and wind allowing me to get upto 400miles from a tank compared to the original 260 normally. Although after resetting the ECU recently I have found i'm getting far better consumption than I was before. I useto only get 35mpg max at 70mph so I can only assume it was defiantly over fuelling and felt sluggish.

Do you put up with it cause you love it really?

I think there's instructions on the forum somewhere maybe do a quick search. I have a diagnostic cable which I use to clear fault code and so used that.
