Milltek Exhaust bhp?

Ok, looking to get the 210bhp from GTT but I'm unsure wether to upgrade the exhaust first. What would the final bhp figure difference be between having and not having the exhaust?

Thanks

Depending on what exhaust you go for and whether you go for the manifold or not are all factors effecting the final power. But say you just get the cat back section, there will may be about 6-10bhp difference. If you get a performance manifold as well ad another 8-10bhp.

Hope this helps!

I would get the exhaust done on the S just for the sound!!!

If you dont want the noise inside the car then stick with the standard manifold!!!!!!
Just the cat back will obviously be heard inside the car but only when you really gunning it!! just normal driving and it will be fine!!! Trust me You will love the sound an S makes with a performace exhaust!!!!!!!

Hi Guys, the GTT manifold is necessary if you want to progress upto GTT240 . The manifold will add a little noise (and a nice hike in power) whereas the Miltek Cstback adds quite a bit of noise and very little power.
If you like youve only got so many 'noise cards' to play before (for some people ) eg me, it gets a bit too loud. As the manifold is the one which adds power , I'd recommend you 'play your noise card' there, then couple it with GTT Re-Route Pipe (in lieu of Miltek catback) and it will still be not too loud.
The Miltek is a good cat back and TBH quieter than most, most other brands can be deafening . Best Regards 'OAP' Roland GTT

I am running a jap speed manifold with a de cat on my cooper s and stuck with that hooked up to the standard exhaust the power change was considerable but i wanted to finish off the set up with a milteck cat back and so have just replaced my standard system with the miltek cat back.

The manifold gave VERY large throtel response but was cheekie lod wiht the standard exhaust.

After finishing the system off with the milteck it gave me a rather bigger smile and a tiny tiny bit more power but not that much more unlike when i first fitted the manifold.

I too didnt want my cooper s to be exsesive on the noise front but i have to say the milteck is perfect not too lod except when really pushed up to top end os the rev range. My main concern was when on the motorway as i didnt want that constant drone but it is very plesant on the easr and only noticable when being pushed hard.

Hope this helps
Kind regards

Phil

Roland, maybe we should set up Horsepower Against Noise Prevention Society, we can have the Italian job theme tune playing in the background

I would personally go for the one ball and the manifold, best of both worlds horsepower and noise

But the customer is always right

I really need to have a look at some cars with each exhaust system to make a proper decision but it looks likely that when GTT fit my 210 or 220 kit I'll get a re route pipe with JCW tail pipes fitted and then sometime in the future get their manifold!

John if you have a diesel, simple,

Mufflerectomy!!!!!!!

You can and quite a lot do on the 1.9 Tdi simply rip the al boxes and the cat out, you do not need any of it for mot as no emissions on Diesels, they sound ok. but best of all the Diesel lumps, ( not 100 % sure on the toyota lump) hate back presure so pull it all off. Alot of the SEAT boys have found nice power gains doing so and the cars spool up a lot better. Plus a damn site cheaper as all you need is an exhaust plcae to bang up a straigth through pipe and weld your choice of tailpipe on. Sound ok on the go.

As for the S, i love my milltek mani and cat back. The noise is loud, but very purposeful, which i love ( maybe a bit too much)
