Thanks 1320autos

Spent most of the day at 1320autos today & have to say what a great bunch Paul & the guy's up there are

Reason for the visit was that over the past month or so a few posts have been appearing regarding 'possible' problems with tuned Cooper S's & WOT (wide open throttle) in 5th & 6th gears, this got me worrying a little about my Hartge MCS. Paul offered to put the old girl on his rolling road for a check up, so I asked him to combine this with a regular service & make the 180 mile round trip worthwhile.

Thomas did a fine job with the service, attention to detail was great, lots of extra checks I'm sure you don't get with regular Bmw garages.

On to the rolling road with Chris @ the helm, another very professional job, these guy's know what they're talking about, anyway, after 3 runs the car was given a clean bill of health & as if you hadn't guessed I was one happy customer

Very reasonable price for the work done as well, I'd recommend 1320 to anyone.

Paul makes great coffee as well

Also pleased with
210.5 bhp @ flywheel
167 @ wheels

Thanks guy's, see you at Santa Pod next meeting

Agreed, 1320 Autos are a great bunch and really know what they're talking about.

Drivetrain loss should be around 12% not 20%

LDG and Don at DMH quote 10.9%, we do intend to do some testing in the future but all I can say for now that our whp figure seems to match what it does at the track.

Have you dyno'd your Mini and run it at the drags to verify what it made??

You forgot to say that this was acheived all on a stock filter.

Thats the wonderfull thing about Sportsman Et, it doesn't matter how slow you are its the skill of the driver to be consistant and the reaction time that wins the race so you could quite easliy win a meeting in Sportsman Et with a stock Mini One .

Drag Racing has to be one of the cheapest forms of motorsport out there, and the funny thing is the entry fee is probably twice what you paid for you and your son to get in for one day, but you get 4 weekend tickets for one entry .

I'll have to do a RWYB to see how that goes, have you got another test session at the Pod planned?

Dyno numbers are always subject to skepticism. For some reason you can get three different Dynos and all the numbers will be different as there are different variables in place. I would say the best thing to do is have the car dyno'd to set a baseline and then as you mod you have another Dyno done by the same person on the same machine. This can eliminate a lot of the traveling variables that can cause problems and misreadings.

This is the reason I don't put much stock in Dyno numbers.......

Thumbs up

I was at 1320 on wednesday (15% pulley, 'eBay special' gen. 5 supercharger and some other nice little bits fitted, some service work done and even a little dyno action), and have nothing but good things to say too

They really are a top bunch of guys and managed to put up with me for a whole day, I learnt ever so much about all things motor! As OP stated, attention to detail all round was brilliant and whilst I could continue to gush, I'll just say I have never left a workshop feeling so confident about my car.

She made a respectable 186.7whp (220.7@fly) with CAI, large IC and 15% pulley, just have to wait for this strange wet stuff I haven't seen for so long to go away again now

Thank you 1320 Autos!
